Perhaps this is learned behaviour from early childhood. However, it really shines the light on the almost universal belief that “I am in control of ‘my’ life” and through ‘my choices’ I can direct and manipulate Life.
If one looks back on one’s ‘apparent life’ it becomes obvious that stuff just happens without anyone actually making any choices. In fact, Neuroscience has proven that there’s no one actually making any decisions or choices. It all happens organically and spontaneously by itself.
Digging deeper it actually boils down to ‘self-consciousness’ or the sense of presence or being ‘conscious’ as a separate, long-lasting, independent entity.
It is revealed to be simply a psycho-somatic misunderstanding.
