On my walk this morning the Robins are busy finding worms and taking turns fending off a Crow who perhaps fancies the eggs in their nest. The Hummingbirds also seem unusually active and happy. The oaks and chestnut trees are in full bloom as are the rhododendrons and tulips.
What if I discontinue comparing changes in things or events.
Wouldn’t everything appear fresh and new as if just beginning or being seen, tasted, heard or smelled for the first time ever?
Could it really be said that there is any time, other than this moment?
Or any distinguishing events, for that matter?
Might it not be seen that all there is, is newness, newness, newness!
Every meal is the best!
Every face is as fresh as the smell of the newly-mown grass!
Hearing Leonard Cohen singing ‘Hallelujah’ for the first time ever!
